THE ZTE revealed the release date of the ZTE Axon 20 5G this Sunday (16th): September 1st. According to the Chinese manufacturer, this will be the first cell phone in the world with a front camera below the screen, which rules out the need for notches or holes to house the sensor for selfies. There is still no information on the price of the smartphone.
The big highlight of the phone is the front camera under the screen. The technology allows the selfies sensor to be placed below the display, in a logic that approximates the fingerprint reader. This allows the panels to take up even more space on the front without using thicker edges or cutouts to house the camera.
According to ZTE, “all the major manufacturers in the industry have been working on a smartphone with a camera under screen”, as is the case with the Oppo and Xiaomi prototypes presented in 2019 with the technology. The ZTE Axon 20 5G, however, may be the first phone to hit stores with the feature.
“By launching the world’s first 5G smartphone with a camera under the display, ZTE will further promote the development of display technologies in the smartphone industry, bringing revolutionary experiences to all consumers,” they say in a press release.
The other features of the phone have not yet been made official. The expectation is that the next launch of ZTE will have a 6.92-inch OLED screen with Full HD + resolution (2460 x 1080 pixels). The front camera, for selfies and video calls, should have a resolution of 32 megapixels.
At the rear, a quadruple photographic set, with a 64 megapixel main camera, is expected. The quartet completes the 8, 2 and 2 megapixel sensors, lined up in a row, vertically, inside a rectangular base in the upper left corner.
The technical file must be formed by an octa-core processor with 2.4 GHz speed, 6 GB, 8 GB or 12 GB RAM, 64 GB, 128 GB or 256 GB storage and 4,120 mAh battery, with recharge fast. The phone is expected to come out of the box with Android 10 from the factory.
There is no forecast date and price for the launch of the ZTE Axon 20 5G in Brazil.
