THE Samsung intends to supply its own chips to Chinese smartphone makers. According to the South Korean website BusinessKorea this Tuesday (3), the cellphone maker Samsung Galaxy is on track to take its processors Exynos to smartphones from Xiaomi and other brands as early as 2021.
Xiaomi to launch Samsung Exynos phones
The deal is expected to give one more chip supplier to Chinese brands. According to the specialist website, Samsung is working on an agreement to bring Samsung Exynos processors to Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo phones, which currently work with components from other manufacturers, such as MediaTek and Qualcomm.
The idea is to equip the chip in mobile phones with more affordable prices at the beginning of next year, in case the agreement between the manufacturers is closed. That way, some intermediate smartphone options from Chinese companies, like Xiaomi, could come with Samsung chips on the technical sheet.
This, however, would not be the first time Samsung has chosen to supply its processors to other manufacturers. In the past, Motorola launched Motorola One Vision and Motorola One Action with the Samsung Exynos 9606 processor. Cell phones arrived in Brazil in 2019 for R $ 1,999 and R $ 1,799, respectively.
