Xiaomi takes MIUI 11 to Redmi Note 6 Pro and more phones – Apps and Software

THE Xiaomi is about to finalize the update process for the MIUI 11: almost all phones have already received the new interface in the global version, including the Pocophone F1, Mi 9, Redmi Note 6 Pro, Redmi 6A and the recently launched Redmi Note 8 Pro. There are versions based on Android 10, 9 Pie and even in Nougat 7.1. If the update hasn’t arrived yet, we will teach you how to install it below.

How to install Xiaomi MIUI 11 manually

If your smartphone has MIUI 11 guaranteed, but you still haven’t received the update, you can force the system to look for the update:

  • go in Settings> About phone> System update;
  • open the menu and tap Update settings;
  • scroll down the list and activate the option Receive updates in advance;
  • go back to the previous screen, open the menu and tap Download the latest package.

If that doesn’t work, you can download the update file and install it at your own risk. Here’s how to proceed:

  • download the update file at XDA Developers and put it in your cell phone storage (if there are two options, choose Recovery ROM);
  • follow the path Settings> About phone> System update;
  • touch several times the MIUI logo;
  • open the menu and tap Choose update package;
  • select the file you downloaded and install it.

Only Redmi Note 8 was missing. MIUI 11 will keep most of these phones on Android 9 Pie, with a few exceptions. Mi 9 and Mi 9T Pro received Android 10, while Redmi 5 and Mi Play follow on Oreo 8.1, and Redmi Note 5A is on Nougat 7.1.
