Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 brings 48 MP quad camera and Snapdragon 665 | Cell phone

THE Xiaomi had several announcements to make this Thursday (29): in addition to the Redmi Note 8 Pro with 64 megapixel camera, it officially revealed the Redmi Note 8 with Snapdragon 665 processor, 4,000 mAh battery and 48 MP quad camera. This phone will be sold in China for prices starting at 999 yuan (equivalent to R $ 580).

The Redmi Note 8 shows some evolution compared to the Redmi Note 7. For example, the rear camera is now quadruple: the main sensor is still 48 megapixels, but now there is an ultrawide camera and another for macro photos.

The processor has also changed: it is the Snapdragon 665, the same as the Xiaomi Mi A3 and CC9e. Lu Weibing, general manager of Redmi, says that this chip is more efficient than the Snapdragon 660 (from Redmi Note 7) because it is manufactured in the 11 nm process.

The rest is basically the same, including the 4,000 mAh battery, the digital reader at the rear and the 6.3-inch LCD screen. For some reason, Xiaomi wanted to imitate Motorola and put the “Redmi” logo on the chin of the new smartphone.

These are the prices for Redmi Note 8 in China:

  • 4 + 64 GB: 999 yuan (R $ 580)
  • 6 + 64 GB: 1,199 yuan (R $ 700)
