Xiaomi Mi Box 3 is updated with Android 9 Pie stable | Gadgets

THE Xiaomi Mi Box 3 is receiving the stable version of Android 9 Pie after a few months of testing. Reports of the update, which brings the new version of the operating system and security improvements to the Xiaomi television device, began appearing in forums on Tuesday (29).

Xiaomi Mi Box 3 gets Android 9 Pie

The Android TV update has been in testing since August, when Xiaomi started releasing Android 9 Pie Beta for the gadget. Now, users can download the stable operating system update, which weighs 650 MB, according to a Reddit thread started on Tuesday (29).

The update takes the stable version of the operating system to the device, with layout settings and changes in the volume indicator and power menu. The update also features the streaming platform app Amazon Prime Video pre-installed. As for the security package, the patch is the July 2020 patch.

The update is already being released to the owners of Xiaomi Mi Box 3. In April, it was the turn of Xiaomi Mi Box S to receive the stable Android 9 Pie, which fixed flaws, such as freezing apps, problems with Chromecast, bug in playback videos and more. There is still no information about the update for Android 10 to devices.
