THE Xiaomi announced, without much fanfare, the new RedmiBook Air 13 this Friday (14). The notebook will arrive in China this month with a 10th generation Intel processor, up to 16 GB of RAM, a 13.3-inch screen, a slimmer design and a lighter metal body. Prices start at 4,899 yuan (about R $ 3,800 in direct conversion) in the Asian country.
Like the MacBook Air, the Xiaomi launch has a thin and light body, only 12.99 mm thick and 1.05 kg. The screen measures 13.3 inches, like the Apple computer, and has a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, an aspect ratio of 16:10, a standard brightness of 300 nits and 100% coverage of the sRGB color profiles.
With the Intel Core i5-10210Y processor with Turbo Boost up to 4.5 GHz and 512 GB SSD, the RedmiBook Air 13 is available in two editions, with 8 GB or 16 GB RAM. The battery is 41 Wh, capable of delivering eight hours of use, according to the manufacturer, and is replaced by a 65-watt USB-C charger, included in the box.
Completing the launch specifications are the two USB-C ports, dedicated headphone jack (3.5 mm), Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. The computer comes out of the box with Windows 10 at the factory.
Notebook sales are scheduled to begin on August 17, in China, for 4,899 yuan (8 GB + 512 GB) and 5,199 yuan (16 GB + 512 GB), equivalent to about R $ 3,800 and R $ 4,025, respectively, in direct conversion.
Xiaomi debuted other notebooks in 2020 with 10th generation Intel Core processors, such as the RedmiBook 16 and RedmiBook 14 II, in July. The Chinese manufacturer also announced the RedmiBook 13, 14 and 16 with AMD Ryzen 4000 processors in May.
There is no forecast date and price for the launch of the RedmiBook Air 13 in Brazil.
