Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro were not the only releases that Xiaomi reserved for this Thursday (29). The company also presented a 70-inch 4K Redmi smart TV which comes to be one of the cheapest in the category (in China, at least).
Xiaomi works with several sub-brands. Redmi is one of the ones that have gained more importance in recent months. Proof of this is that Redmi TV is the first smart TV from the Chinese manufacturer to bear that name.
This debut, so to speak, comes in style. Confirming the rumors, Redmi TV has a 70-inch screen with thin edges, 4K resolution and HDR.
The equipment also has a quad-core 1.5 GHz Amlogic processor (Cortex-A53 cores) with 750 MHz Mali-450 MP3 GPU, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB for internal storage. The specifications are complemented by three HDMI 2.0 ports, two USB ports, an Ethernet port, Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth 4.2, in addition to Dolby and DTS-HD audio.
There is still no information on the type of panel that equips the smart TV. Xiaomi says, however, that the device comes with the PatchWall operating system, which is based on Android and is also present in models of the Mi TV line.
Among the attributes of this system are artificial intelligence resources. Not by chance, Redmi TV is accompanied by a Bluetooth remote control with support for voice commands.
In China, Redmi TV has an official price of 3,799 yuan (equivalent to approximately R $ 2,200). Xiaomi’s plan is to offer a cheap 70-inch TV. In fact, the price is interesting for the Chinese market. The Honor Vision TV, for example, has a similar starting price, but comes with a 55-inch panel.
