This week Sony revealed which streaming apps will be available at the launch of the PS5. Microsoft has not released a similar list for the Xbox Series X and Series s, but the Tecnoblog found in the company’s online store, where the apps are already marked according to the new consoles.
According to the investigation, the main streaming apps used and available on the Xbox One will continue to work on the Xbox Series X and Series S. In the Windows online store, via a browser, you can see that software such as Netflix and Crunchyroll are already marked with a compatibility for new devices.
Xbox Series X and S streams
Thus, you will be able to use these applications when the Xbox Series X and Series S are released on November 10:
Other less popular apps should also work. Unlike the PS5, there is still no mention of Disney +, which is confirmed in Brazil for November 17, but which still has no application launched in any national online store – not even on cell phones.
The launch of these apps is hardly a surprise, since the backward compatibility of the Xbox Series X and Series S will be incredibly comprehensive. In fact, the two consoles share the same menu as the current Xbox One, which makes the user experience very close.
Still, from the consumer’s point of view, it is always good to know and have confirmation about what entertainment options the consoles will have at launch, which currently goes beyond games.
