Wish, an e-commerce platform, is expanding its payment options: it is now possible to split purchases over R $ 50 by credit card up to 6 times without interest. The marketplace is focused on cheap products from China, including clothing, accessories, headphones and cell phones.
In a statement, Wish states that the installment on the card is already available on Monday (4) throughout Brazil within the application for iPhone, iPad and Android. In early November, this should be expanded to the web version.
The app warns, however, that the installment option may not appear immediately for some users, as it is being enabled for Brazilians “over time”.
You will see the option to split the product if the total value of the cart is above R $ 50; in this case, it will be possible to pay interest-free up to 6 times. It is possible to install the installments on just one credit card. There is no way to pay part of the value of the ticket, and part on the card.
If the user requests a refund, the installments already paid will be returned on the next invoice; and the following installments will be canceled. If there are any problems, Wish recommends contacting Ebanx, a startup that processes your payments.
Wish already accepted cash payment by credit card, debit card, PayPal and boleto. “As one of the most popular e-commerce platforms in the country, we believe that the installment payment option will contribute to further increase our business in Brazil,” says Nicola Azevedo, General Manager of Wish for the Americas, in a statement.
The Wish platform has more than 80 million active users around the world and more than one million sellers. It was founded in the USA in 2010 and started operations in Brazil in August 2017. According to the company, its global network of direct suppliers “provides access to affordable, high-quality products for anyone with a smartphone”.
