THE Microsoft updated the Windows 10 to solve a problem in Cortana: the bug made the SearchUI.exe process consume a lot of CPU. Now, some users report that this process just stopped working: search Windows through the Start menu does not return any results, displaying only a blank screen. The company is investigating the failure.
“Searching for anything in the Start menu results in a blank window again after installing this update,” says one user from Reddit. “SearchUI.exe simply never starts, for example, if you start typing things after pressing the Windows key”, says another.
A Microsoft panel gathers the problems currently affecting Windows 10. There, the company says who “received reports that some users are having problems with the Start menu and Windows Desktop Search. We are currently investigating and will provide an update when more information becomes available. ”
The problem appears for some users after the KB4515384 update, which came to address Cortana’s high CPU consumption issue on the Windows 10 May 2019 Update (version 1903). This occurred only on PCs where web search through the Start menu was disabled.

On Reddit, some users solved the problem by running the System File Checker: just open the Command prompt, rotate the command sfc / scannow and then restart the PC.
If that doesn’t work, you can also use Registry Editor. If you want to follow this step, we recommend that you back up your PC first. So, open the regedit and insert the way:
