WhatsApp will allow activation without receiving SMS on iPhone – Apps

The configuration of WhatsApp should be faster on the iPhone. This is because the messenger started to dispense with sending SMS to users who have already verified their cell phone number to enable iCloud Keys.

The information is WABetaInfo, which usually advances some of the changes in WhatsApp, but, in this case, did not give further details about the new solution. The application’s website also does not offer information about the novelty.

Today, to verify a WhatsApp account, you need to enter your phone number and wait for an SMS with a six-digit code. If necessary, the service can make an automatic call to inform the code.

The process does not take long, but the option to dispense with this six-digit code will make it even faster. In the case of the iPhone, iCloud Keys are available to those who have iOS 7.0.3 or later.

In addition to the configuration change on iOS devices, WhatsApp began testing the option of sending messages that self-destruct after a certain period of time. The feature, which is already available on other messengers, will help protect more sensitive information.

It started to be released in beta version 2.19.275 and can be noticed in the group settings, which won an item of “Self-destructive messages”. The option is disabled by default, but allows you to force the message to be destroyed 5 seconds or 1 hour after it is read.
