WhatsApp should soon release for all iOS users the option of listening to voice messages and other sound files without having to open the conversation. For this, the application already tests the playback of audios in the notification area.
According to the WABetaInfo, which adds some of the app’s features, WhatsApp already offers the option for iOS users in beta version 184.108.40.206. Audio playback in notifications has also reached WhatsApp Business for iOS in beta version 220.127.116.11.
To find out if you’ve already received the appeal, simply ask a known person to send you a voice message or other audio file as a test. Keep the app closed, and if the feature is available, you’ll see the player next to the notification.
The messenger allows you to hear what was received, but does not have an option to reply with another audio in the notification area, which only allows you to send a text message. To record a response, you still need to open the conversation.
Still according to the WABetaInfo, it is only at this moment when WhatsApp indicates to the other person that you heard the recording. If the audio is played in the notification and the conversation is not opened, the app will not show the two blue ticks.
