Spotify has finally become compatible with Siri. In its latest beta for iOS 13.1, the streaming service can play songs, albums and playlists from voice commands sent to Apple’s assistant.

The possibility for third-party music applications to use Siri has been released with the new audio API in the SiriKit developer package. It allows you to use practically the same commands as Apple Music with add-ons like “on Spotify”.
According to the The Verge, the integration of Spotify with Siri works well on the iPhone and AirPods. However, the service does not yet recognize commands for listening to podcasts. When that happens, he tries to search for songs named after the programs.
The solution was also not released on the Apple Watch, which displays only one player and not an application dedicated to the streaming service. These points could be improved until the integration is officially released in the coming weeks.
To The Verge, Spotify has not confirmed when the integration will arrive for all users. The company noted that it is undergoing tests and said they will not be commented at this time.
“At Spotify, we routinely run a number of tests in an effort to improve our user experience,” said the company. “Some of these tests end up paving the way for a broader user experience and others serve only as an important learning experience.”
