THE Sony started selling on Monday (9) the WH-XB900N, a circumaural headphone with active noise cancellation. With a suggested price of R $ 1,299, it is just below the famous WH-1000XM3, but is part of the Extra Bass line, which brings a reinforcement in the bass.
The WH-XB900N has some features of the more expensive sibling, such as the 30-hour battery with noise cancellation activated, the foldable design that allows easier transport inside the bag and the touch sensor to pause the music, control the volume or activate Quick Attention, which mutes the sound and turns on the microphones to talk to someone without taking the headset off.
The look and comfort are similar, although the WH-XB900N has no more sophisticated details in its body. The shells are a little different: they have an air inlet on each side for “greater impenetrability of the air” that allows “to create precise and vigorous rhythms that enhance all the songs”. In other words, stronger bass.
Regarding the WH-1000XM3, which sells for R $ 1,799 in Brazil, the WH-XB900N loses the rigid carrying case and advanced noise cancellation features: there is no personal optimizer, which adjusts the sound according to your head, hair and glasses; nor the optimization by atmospheric pressure, to make the resource more effective in airplanes.
In Brazil, the WH-XB900N will be available in black and blue colors, only in the Sony store, for R $ 1,299. The price is similar to that practiced in the United States, where the headphone is sold for $ 250.
