THE Samsung started distributing the Android 9 Pie to Galaxy J7 Duo in Brazil: the update comes with the One UI interface and the Google security patch for July. Meanwhile, the Galaxy J5 Pro will receive the update in October, instead of the previously announced deadline (August). Android Pie Go has also been delayed for cell phones Galaxy J2 Core and Galaxy J4 Core.
Updating the Galaxy J7 Duo requires a download of about 1.2 GB: this includes Android Pie, the One UI interface and the July security patch. Samsung warns that “some applications, including Calculator, Samsung Internet, Samsung Health, Samsung Notes, Samsung Members and Samsung Pay, need to be updated individually”.
The One UI interface places interface elements at the bottom, including buttons and tabs, for easier thumb access. There is also a night mode throughout the system and in Samsung applications.
You can reply to messages in the notification panel; use Photo Editor Pro editing tools directly in the Gallery; configure the Bixby key to decide what happens when it is pressed once or twice; and send Unicode 11 emojis.
Samsung postpones Android Pie on Galaxy J5 Pro and J4 Core
Meanwhile, the Galaxy J5 Pro – also known as Galaxy J5 (2017) – will have to wait a little longer. Your deadline to receive Android Pie was until August 2019; now Samsung notify on Twitter that this cell phone will be contemplated only in October, without revealing the reasons.
O Galaxy J4 Core it is a more complicated case. In June, Samsung said that “Android 9 was recently released” for the device. In the following month, many users had not yet received the update in Brazil and asked the company for information, which gave a new deadline for the update: August.
“The update is scheduled for this month, don’t worry that soon you will receive the update notification, okay?” Said Samsung on twitter, in early August, for a J4 Core owner.
It’s the J2 Core? Samsung even mentioned it in its list of devices that would receive the Pie in Brazil, but later withdrew it. On Twitter, the company informs that this device does not have “update confirmation for the next months”, And says: “I still don’t have a forecast for this update”.
