Good news for those who have a Galaxy S10, S10 + or S10e: a Samsung is releasing a software update for this line that, in addition to the typical bug fixes, brings several features until then exclusive to the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+.
The main novelties concern the cameras. The Galaxy S10 line is now receiving Live Focus, Live Focus Video, AR Doodle (for rear and front cameras) and Super Steady (already existing, but now revamped to support both conventional videos and hyperlapses), as well as a night mode for the front camera.
O XDA Developers recalls that, in fact, the Live Focus function (allows you to control the depth of field and adjust the background blur) is already available on the Galaxy S10 line (and on other Samsung devices), but the mode was increased with effects that were only released for the Galaxy Note 10 line.
Live Focus Video (has the same function as Live Focus, only in videos, as the name implies) is a new feature in Galaxy S10 devices. The same goes for the other added features, such as AR Doodle, which allows the user to write or draw on faces captured in videos.
But the news is not limited to cameras. Other features that the Galaxy Note 10 line is “lending” to Galaxy S10 smartphones include Link to Windows (a kind of shortcut that makes it easier to connect your smartphone to your PC) and Dynamic Lock Screen (displays a different background image every time the lock screen is triggered).
Also worth mentioning is support for DeX mode. This feature was already compatible with the Galaxy S10 line, but has been modified on the Galaxys Note 10 and 10+ to allow the mode to work on computers running Windows 10 or macOS. Well, this new version of Dex is being taken to the Galaxy S10 line.
The update also includes cumulative security fixes for September 2019 and performance adjustments. It just takes patience. The update is being released gradually by Samsung.
