Samsung Galaxy A30s and A50s have a triple camera and digital player on the screen

A few days after revealing the Galaxy A10s, Samsung announces two other smartphones with the suffix ‘s’: o Galaxy A30s it’s the Galaxy A50s. Intermediaries, both have practically the same design. The differences are more noticeable inside each one: as the name suggests, the Galaxy A50s has slightly more advanced specifications.

Let’s start with the screen. Both have 6.4-inch Super AMOLED panels. However, the Galaxy A30s has HD + resolution and has “V” format (Infinity-V) notch while the Galaxy A50s has full HD + resolution and “U” shape (Infinity-U).

Samsung did not confirm the processors, but reported that the A30s has an octa-core chip with two 1.8 GHz and six 1.6 GHz cores. The A50s was equipped with a 2.3 GHz four-core chip and another four 1.7 GHz. Apparently, the processors are versions of the Exynos 7904 and Exynos 9610, respectively.

The Galaxy A30s also has 32, 64 or 128 GB of storage, in addition to 3 or 4 GB of RAM. The Galaxy A50s comes with options of 64 and 128 GB of storage, in addition to specializing in RAM: the variations are 4 or 6 GB.

In common, the two devices have a 4,000 mAh battery with fast recharge (15 W), support a microSD of up to 512 GB, have a USB-C connection and have a fingerprint reader integrated into the screen.

In comparison with the original models (without the ‘s’ in the name), the Galaxy A30s and Galaxy A50s bring only a few increments in the look and in the technical sheet. The differences are more evident when comparing the cameras.

While the Galaxy A30 features a 16 + 5 megapixel rear dual camera, the Galaxy A30s offers a 25 + 5 + 8 megapixel triple camera. In turn, the Galaxy A50 has a combination of 25 + 5 + 8 megapixels on the rear versus 48 + 5 + 8 megapixels on the Galaxy A50s – it is to be expected that it will take better photos than the Galaxy A50, therefore.

It is also worth mentioning that, on the Galaxy A50, the front camera is 25 megapixels while the A50s has a 32 megapixel sensor on the front. The A30 has a digital reader on the rear while the A30s integrates the component into the screen, as already said.

Samsung has yet to provide information on pricing and release dates.
