O Google announced on Thursday (22) that Android 10 will be the next version of the operating system, instead of Android Q or Quindim. THE Nokia took the opportunity to confirm all 17 cell phones that will be updated; Xiaomi, Huawei and OnePlus had already promised the update for several smartphones. Samsung, LG, Motorola and other manufacturers have yet to comment on upgrade plans.
As the Android Police, the list of Nokia includes some devices launched almost two years ago, such as Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 1 with Android Go.
- fourth quarter of 2019: Nokia 7.1, Nokia 8.1, Nokia 9 PureView
- between late 2019 and early 2020: Nokia 6.1, Nokia 6.1 Plus, Nokia 7 Plus
- first quarter of 2020: Nokia 2.2, Nokia 3.1 Plus, Nokia 3.2, Nokia 4.2, Nokia 1 Plus, Nokia 5.1 Plus, Nokia 8 Sirocco
- second quarter of 2020: Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1, Nokia 5.1, Nokia 1
Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 and Nokia 8, launched in 2017, will remain on Android 9 Pie. However, they will receive quarterly security patches until october 2020.
OnePlus, Xiaomi and Huawei bring Android 10 to mobile phones
THE OnePlus, in its turn, confirmed on its official forum that these phones will have Android 10:
- OnePlus 5
- OnePlus 5T
- OnePlus 6
- OnePlus 6T
- OnePlus 7
- OnePlus 7 Pro
There is still no release date, but it is worth noting that the OnePlus 6 / 6T and 7/7 Pro have already been testing the preview for Android 10 developers.
In its official forum, the Xiaomi revealed that it will start testing Android 10 on nine phones later this year: Xiaomi Mi 9, Mi 9 SE, Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi K20, Mi 8, Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition, Mi 8 Explorer Edition, Mi Mix 2S, Mi Mix 3.
This list is not yet definitive; more devices must be added over time. The update for Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro is also confirmed, but testing will only begin in 2020.
And the Huawei, still under US sanctions, already confirms EMUI with Android 10 for 23 smartphones, including the P30 Lite and P30 Pro sold in Brazil. You can check the full list here.
Google Pixel phones will obviously be updated very soon, as they are all on the Android Beta program; the same goes for Essential Phone. Other manufacturers, such as Samsung, LG, Motorola and Asus, have yet to announce their plans for Android 10.
