THE Netflix confirmed that the four films by Harry Potter in their catalog they will be available until November 1st in Brazil; they will enter the HBO Go on November 7th. WarnerMedia owns the famous Hogwarts franchise, and this year launched the streaming service HBO Max, which is scheduled to land in Latin America in 2021.
HBO Go announced on its website: “the magic of all Harry Potter films brought together in one place; on November 7th, Harry Potter takes control of HBO ”.
For now, all the adaptations of JK Rowling’s books are present in Claro / NET’s Now: however, it is necessary to subscribe to pay TV with Telecine channels. Some of the films can also be found directly at Telecine, hired separately for R $ 37.90 per month.
WarnerMedia could consolidate all of them into its own streaming service: the company confirmed that HBO Max will arrive in Latin America in 2021. It would be something similar to what Disney did before the launch of Disney + in November: Marvel films (Avengers, Thor) and Pixar (Toy Story, Nemo) that were on Netflix have been removed from the catalog; the same occurred in the Amazon Prime Video.
There are some titles that generate real disputes between streaming services, like the series Friends – which also belongs to WarnerMedia. The films of Harry Potter, which earned $ 7.7 billion in theaters, are largely targeted for serving as a way to retain and win subscribers.
In the US, HBO Max debuted in May with all eight films from Harry Potter, but removed all in August. Is that WarnerMedia had already made an agreement with NBCUniversal for the rights to broadcast on TV and digital platforms between 2018 and 2025, but managed to negotiate a “window” to put them in your streaming on a temporary basis.
