THE Motorola brought to Brazil the new Moto G8 Play and Moto G8 Plus, leaving the doubt in the air: where’s the Moto G8 standard? Evan Blass, known as @evleaks on twitter, published a promotional video for the 48 megapixel triple camera phone, suggesting that it will be released soon.
The video shows that the Moto G8 has a drop-shaped screen for the front camera, and a chin on the bottom without the Motorola logo. At the rear are the fingerprint reader and a triple camera; you can see the text “48 MP” just below the flash. It comes in blue, black or red.
Moto G8 is different from Play and Plus variants
The design of the Moto G8 is very similar to the Moto G8 Play that has already been released. Both have a triple camera organized in the same way: the larger sensor separated at the top, and the two other sensors assembled in the same module as the flash. However, the Moto G8 has a main sensor of 48 megapixels, against the 13 MP of the Play variant.
In turn, the Moto G8 Plus has a triple camera and a 48 megapixel sensor; it has an additional hole for the laser focus, something absent in the standard Moto G8.
That is, the Moto G8 that appears in the video is really a different model, instead of a new name for an already launched device. We don’t yet know the specs for it, but it should be officially revealed – or leaked – soon.
Motorola is also preparing a new smartphone with a retractable front camera and a screen without notch. The company adopted the strategy of launching cell phones whenever possible and made a profit for three consecutive quarters, after years of losses.
