THE Huawei debuted in the wearable device segment this Friday (16th) in Brazil with the sports watch Huawei Watch GT. It has GPS to record physical exercises outdoors, monitors heartbeat and promises long battery life, with up to 14 days of autonomy.
The Watch GT runs its own LiteOS operating system, which displays notifications from Android and iPhone phones, but does not yet allow third-party applications to be installed. The 46 mm version, which will be sold in the country, has water resistance of up to 5 atm and a 1.39-inch circular AMOLED screen with a resolution of 454 × 454 pixels.
The Watch GT body has a ceramic bezel and stainless steel casing. The bracelet of the Active edition is made of rubber and can be found in orange and green colors – it is possible to replace it quickly, without using any tools. And the style of the dial can be selected through the Huawei Health app, which also concentrates all your health data.
The highlights are for the fitness resources: he can suggest running training from beginner to advanced level; supports three satellite positioning systems (GPS, Glonass and Galileo); and features a triathlon mode, which records swimming, cycling and running activities, including transitions. In the application, it is possible to consult data such as maximum VO2, forecast of the time for the conclusion of the race and graphs of rhythm, cadence and heart rate.
Sleep monitoring is done automatically. Huawei says TruSleep 2.0 technology “identifies common sleep-related problems and provides more than 200 potential suggestions to help you sleep better.” In addition to showing the duration of sleep, the Watch GT identifies how much time you spent on each stage (light sleep, heavy sleep, REM and awake sleep) and gives a score for your night.
In Brazil, the Huawei Watch GT will initially be sold in green, in the Active edition, with a suggested price of R $ 1,499, at Huawei kiosks in São Paulo, Campinas, Rio de Janeiro and Brasília, in addition to B2W’s online stores (Americanas , Shoptime and Submarino), Magazine Luiza and Via Varejo (Casas Bahia, Extra and Ponto Frio). The clock will also be available in the Fast Shop and physical stores of Via Varejo starting next week.
In addition to the Huawei Watch GT Active Edition, the company may launch other wearables soon in the Brazilian market. Anatel has already approved other 46 mm versions of the watch, in addition to the Elegant Edition, which has a 42 mm case for smaller wrists and promises a battery of up to seven days. The Huawei Band 3 fitness bracelet should also arrive here. Prices have not yet been officially released.
