O Google is working on a new device with Android TV. According to information revealed on Friday (12), the alleged Google “Sabrina” will bring the same processor as the Xiaomi Mi TV Stick and remote control with microphone. The dongle should still support Google Stadia.
Google is working with a device known internally as “Sabrina”, according to behind the scenes information. The gadget is expected to bring Android TV and bring Smart TV features to any television with HDMI input, just like the Amazon Fire TV Stick.
The device, however, must not follow in the footsteps of Google Chromecast, which depends on a cell phone to be controlled. According to the XDA-Developers, Google “Sabrina” will have a remote control connected via Bluetooth, with a microphone and shortcuts to access Netflix and YouTube, as well as a button to activate the Google Assistant.
The gadget’s technical sheet must include the Amlogic S905X2 chipset. The component, which is the same as Xiaomi Mi TV Stick and Streaming Box, from Oi operator, has four ARM Cortex-A53 cores of up to 1.8 GHz, Mali-G31 MP2 graphics chip and support for HDR10, Dolby Vision and HDMI 2.1 low latency (Auto Low Latency Mode).
Other news are expected for Google “Sabrina”, as support for Google Stadia, the company’s streaming games platform. Completing the possible specifications are the Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.1 connections and the 2 GB RAM.
The launch date and price of the dongle, as well as the device’s trade name, have not yet been revealed.
