With the Galaxy S10 selling well and the Galaxy Fold experiencing delays, it’s time to talk about the Galaxy Note 10: more sources corroborate that the big Samsung cell phone will come without a headphone jack and even without physical buttons. It is expected to ship in two different screen sizes – 6.28 and 6.75 inches – each with their respective 4G and 5G models.
One source tells the Android Police that the Galaxy Note 10 will not have a 3.5 mm headphone jack; in addition, the external buttons – on / off, volume, Bixby – will be replaced by capacitive or pressure sensitive areas along the edge, marked by different relief and texture.
The Korean website ETNews said last year that Samsung could remove the headphone jack on the Galaxy Note 10. The same vehicle said in March that the device would come without physical buttons.
Samsung has already launched phones without earphone jack
It is worth remembering that Samsung has already announced several phones without a phone jack: this is the case of the foldable Galaxy Fold, Galaxy A60, Galaxy A80 and Galaxy A8s; the Galaxy Tab S5e tablet also comes without the connector. However, this would be the first time that this would reach high-end models.
What about touch buttons? Well, HTC tried to do that with the U12 + and it didn’t quite work out, at least initially: the volume and on / off controls “were unreliable, had very varying sensitivity levels, and were prone to ghosting touches that, in cases extremes, caused a reset on the cell phone ”, according to Android Central.
HTC ended up correcting this with a software update, but it was too late: the U12 + image was already tarnished. It was one of the last phones launched by the company after it sold part of its mobile division to Google.
Note 10 and Note 10 Pro must have 5G and fast charging
Details on the Galaxy Note 10 have been dripping slowly over the past few months, coming from the SamMobile, the Korean media and approval agencies. It is believed that the device will come in four different versions:
- SM-N970: Galaxy Note 10 with 6.28 inch screen and battery 3,400 mAh
- SM-N971: Galaxy Note 10 with 5G, 6.28 inch screen and battery 4,300 mAh
- SM-N975: Galaxy Note 10 Pro with 6.75 inch screen, battery 4,500 mAh and four cameras at the rear
- SM-N976: Galaxy Note 10 Pro with 5G, 6.75-inch screen and four cameras at the rear
According to Forbes, the Galaxy Note 10 will have a fast charge in excess of 25 W. “You should be thinking bigger … expect to be pleasantly surprised and not to be disappointed when the specifications are made public,” says the source.
The Huawei P30 Pro has a 40 W charger, while the Mate X foldable reaches 55 W. Xiaomi is preparing 100 W charging technology for cell phones. And this week, Samsung announced chips for safe charging 100 W via USB-C.
According to SamMobile, the Galaxy Note 10 (SM-N970) will be launched in black, silver, white and pink, in addition to a red model for some countries. In turn, the Galaxy Note 10 Pro (SM-N975) would come in silver, black and white.
The Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Pro are expected to be officially announced in August.
