Fifth season of Black Mirror hits Netflix in June | Culture

Bandersnatch and its interactive proposal delayed production, but now we have an official date: the fifth season of Black Mirror will premiere on Netflix on June 5th. The company has already started releasing the trailer for the new episodes on social media.

Fifth season of Black Mirror

Previously released information indicates that the fifth season of Black Mirror will present three new stories and will have names like Anthony Mackie (Avengers: Infinity War), Andrew Scott, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman), Topher Grace, Nicole Beharie, Angourie Rice, and Miley Cyrus.

As in previous seasons, the new episodes will have a dystopian approach, which questions the influence of the modern world or the excessive use of technology in various aspects of human life, such as relationships, love, family, sex, work and privacy.

To feed expectations, Netflix has taken care to disclose few details about the fifth season. However, at the beginning of the year, Charlie Brooker, the main name behind the series, hinted that the new episodes will follow a more optimistic line instead of just portraying negative aspects.

Despite this, the trailer shows scenes suggesting that topics like loneliness and stress caused by excess technology will be addressed in the new season.

Third season of 3% also arrives in June

Netflix also announced the release date of the third season of the Brazilian series 3%. The new phase will have eight episodes of around 45 minutes each and will debut on the platform scheduled for June 7.

Although it is not very popular in Brazil, the production was well received in several countries. Netflix does not disclose numbers, but it is known that 3% is one of the most watched non-English language series on the platform.
