BB removes Ourocard and debit cards from Google Pay | Finance

You use your credit card Bank of Brazil at the Google Pay? Better take a look to see if it’s still there: customers report that Ourocard credit and debit cards have been removed from the digital wallet after an Android app update and cannot be added again. The financial institution confirms the problem by Tecnoblog and promises to resolve it soon.

Everton Favretto, who has been collaborating on matters of the Tecnoblog, noticed the problem this week. He received an SMS message saying that his BB cards were removed from Google Pay. When trying to register them again, the app displays an error message: “something went wrong, try again”.

He is not the only one who noticed this flaw. “My Google Pay updated yesterday and my Banco do Brasil Ourocard, in addition to being unsubscribed, no longer presents the option to register with Google Pay on the Ourocard application, nor is it accepted by registering manually”, reports a customer on Twitter.

“The ‘add to Google Pay’ button on the Ourocard app is missing? My card was removed from Google Pay and I can’t add it anymore ”, asks another user. “It is not possible to add a debit card to Google Pay, the call center says that due to an inconsistency in the system itself,” says a third party.

BB says there are “inconsistencies” in Google Pay

In a statement to the Tecnoblog, BB claims that it unsubscribed some cards for having found “inconsistencies involving the Google Pay digital wallet”. She promises to resolve the fault over the next week.

“Banco do Brasil informs that inconsistencies have been identified involving the Google Pay digital wallet, leading to the unsubscription of Visa and Elo cards from some customers,” says the statement. “These customers are being informed and the expectation is that the process will be normalized next week, allowing customers to insert their cards in the wallet again.”

It is also possible to register BB cards on Samsung Pay and Apple Pay; in these two portfolios, apparently there was no problem.
