Apple announced on Tuesday (13) the Bluetooth headphones Beats Flex, which arrive to replace the BeatsX and have the proposal to offer relatively affordable price. The gadgets cost R $ 579 (practically half the price charged in the predecessor) and promise battery autonomy for 12 hours, with charging via USB-C. There are four color options: black, yellow, gray and blue.
Improvements in audio and quick pairing
The new Beats Flex have the W1 chip (the same as the first AirPods), and are able to pair quickly with iPhones and iPads. However, they are not compatible with the voice command “Hey there, Siri” – available only for headphones with an H1 chip, such as the Beats Solo Pro -, nor with active noise cancellation.
The headphones feature a new layered driver and dual camera acoustics, which promises a balanced and clear sound. There is also an advanced digital processor to deliver custom bass, as well as improvements in the microphone that should provide higher quality calls.
Beats Flex are compatible with Audio Sharing, allowing you to share the sound coming from an iPhone, iPad or Apple TV with other Beats headphones or AirPods. During the process, each user can operate the volume control separately on their own device.
Design promises comfort and practicality
The Beats Flex has a lightweight cable that connects the two headphones and is around the user’s neck. Beats promises freedom and comfort to listen to music even without a TWS design, and there are four rubber options for you to choose the one that best fits your ear.
There is also more practicality when listening to or pausing a song: when the headphones are hung around the neck, the sound is immediately stopped. Playback is automatically activated when the user puts the headphones to the ear.
Battery and fast charging
The Beats Flex promise up to 12 hours of battery life, in addition to fast recharging that should deliver an hour and a half of music playback with just 10 minutes of charging.
Pricing and availability
Despite the announcement this Tuesday, the Beats Flex headphones only reach the national market “in the beginning” of 2021 – without a set date. The suggested price is R $ 579.
