THE Anatel approved two products that Amazon sells in a package: the Fire TV Stick 4K, device for streaming series and movies on TV; it’s the Alexa Voice Remote, remote control with microphone to hear voice commands. Both gadgets are authorized for sale in Brazil; the company sells here the Fire TV Stick with maximum Full-HD resolution.
The approval was discovered by Cesar Cardoso, from Mobile Penguins. The Fire TV Stick 4K appears on Anatel’s system under the code E9L29Y; while the remote control is the L5B83H.
The main highlight of the Fire TV Stick 4K is – surprise! – 4K streaming support at up to 60 frames per second. If you have an Ultra-HD TV, you can watch Netflix series, movies and videos, Prime Videoand YouTube with more definition.
The device supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10 + and HLG video standards. We also find support for Dolby Atmos audio here, but only in some Prime Video titles (not Netflix). The 1.7 GHz quad-core processor is faster than the Fire Stick sold in Brazil (1.3 GHz quad-core).
Alexa Voice Remote hears voice commands
It comes with Alexa Voice Remote, a remote control with microphone to hear your voice commands. Amazon is already testing the digital assistant in Brazilian Portuguese.
The Alexa Voice Remote connects to the Fire TV Stick 4K via Bluetooth, but it also comes with an infrared to serve as a universal remote control, sending commands to other equipment.
In the US, Amazon sells a kit with Fire TV Stick 4K and Alexa Voice Remote for $ 50 (about $ 200); there is still no release forecast for Brazil. Here, the Fire TV Stick with Full-HD costs R $ 289, accompanied by a Bluetooth control without a voice assistant.
It is worth noting that Google has a competitor called Chromecast Ultra, which offers 4K streaming; however, it is not officially sold in Brazil.
