Amazon closes deal to include Disney movies and series on Prime Video in Brazil | Internet

The streaming serviceDisney + should not arrive in Brazil anytime soon, but it will be possible to consume the films and series of the owner of Mickey in the Prime Video. THE Amazon announced on Tuesday (1st) that it closed a content licensing agreement with Disney for one year, valid for all of Latin America.

Toy Story 4

Films that are leaving the collection or that did not even appear on other streaming platforms will be available on Amazon Prime Video. This includes recent Marvel productions, such as Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame, as well as Pixar animations such as Toy Story 4, which opened in theaters just over three months ago.

Amazon highlighted the following films and series as new to the Prime Video in Latin America:

  • The latest box office hits from the Marvel cinematic universe, such as Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame, in addition to films from other phases of the Marvel universe, such as Iron Man, Thor the Dark World, Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
  • Live action versions of famous animations, such as The Lion King, Mary Poppins Returns, The Nutcracker and the Four Kingdoms, Beauty and the Beast, Maleficent and the sequence, Maleficent: Owner of Evil.
  • Epic animated films like Ralph WiFi – Breaking the Internet, Big hero operation, Tangled, Toy Story 1, 2, 3 and 4, Zootopia and Moana, in addition to classics, such as The princess and the Frog and Lilo & Stitch.
  • All seasons of successful series, such as Grey’s Anatomy, The Walking Dead, American Horror Story and How I Met Your Mother.

Avengers: Endgame

The productions will start to be released this Tuesday (1st), until September 2020. It will be possible to watch the content on any smartphone, tablet or TV compatible with Prime Video, as well as download the films and series for offline playback.

This is another important chapter in the streaming services war, which is expected to affect mainly the leader Netflix. Although it has surpassed the mark of 10 million users in Brazil, more than any pay-TV operator, Netflix has been under pressure from all sides. Apple TV + arrives in November; and there is a dispute with Fox Premium, HBO Go and Telecine Play in the country.

In addition, competitors charge less than R $ 21.90 for Netflix’s basic SD resolution plan: Apple TV + will cost R $ 9.90 per month, the same price as Amazon Prime, which includes, in addition to the video platform, benefits such as free delivery to all of Brazil with no minimum purchase amount, Twitch Prime, music streaming service and access to Prime Reading ebooks and magazines.
